If you've read my ramblings long enough, you know I'm one juicing/blending/smoothie making/acai bowl obsessed chick!
I'm always looking for the latest greatest ways to detox and alkaline my body & this 5 day cleanse tops my list!
Having juiced as many years as I have, you come up with so many awesome hacks I'm excited to share! Afterall, we are dealing with temperamental fruits and veggies exclusively the a solid 5 days and as much as I love a good farmers market - no one wants to be there 2x a day grabbing stuff to juice!
Okay so first things first - here's the 5 day breakdown for the cleanse

As you can see, it's basically 7 different mixes in very deliberate combos throughout the day. Personally, I like to spread each juice blend 2 hours apart, starting at 8am (I Intermittent Fast 16:8 Method - so I cut off all food at 6pm during Cleanse days!)
I do all my veggie prep the day before. Greens 1 veggies get cleaned, cored and chopped up and put into big Ziplock freezer bags - that way I'm only grabbing a few handfuls of the fruits and veggies I need for every juice. I do every juice in the moment. I've done cleanses in the past where I juiced EVERYTHING and stored it in the freezer and it was a total pain in the A, plus it all tasted bitter since the moment you juice fruits and veggies, they start to oxidize (lose nutrients) and you really want to get allllllllll that good stuff right after your juice it! If you have a super busy life, so juicing in the moment just isn't realistic - juice right before bed and freeze, then just let them thaw out as the day goes on and chug-a-lug!
Now lets break down what fruits and veggies are in each juicing blend:

Greens!! You want the quickest way to detox, restore nutrients and boost your immune system... Greens are LIFE! We are talking bigtime energy, blood sugar balance, upper/lower intestinal detoxing, thyroid power boosting GREENS!! These 3 blends will satiate you and CLEAN YOU OUT! I'm talking about a BM that gives you abs!! Ahhhh, come on - everyone loves a good poo!

Roots!!! Ok, lets talk hormones for a hot second. The majority of men and women are dealing with some kind of imbalance in this regard and root veggies have come to your rescue! before I go into my love for all root veggies - I have to say GO ORGANIC because the ground/soil your veggies are in MATTERS GREATLY! Root veggies absorb whatever toxins are in the soil so you really want to pick from growers who take their soil seriously! Now that I have said that, root veggies will change your damn life! I mean, we are talking about the whole alphabet of vitamins in the line-up: A B(All of the Bs) C D E K, potassium and BOY OH BOY root veggies boost your blood BIGLY! If your blood is the gasoline of your body, root veggies will take you from Unleaded to Premium within 24 hours!
Next up - Citrus giving you all that sunshiney goodness:

Here in Arizona, SUN IS LIFE! No way around it, the Sun just rules the day and I'm convinced it's the key to good health and a good life! When I start to get that tickle in the back of my throat that's a clear indication some kind of bug is coming on, GRAPEFRUIT is what I run too. Vitamin C is the game changer when it comes to everything from skin/hair to immune system boosting and collagen production! I mean, fisherman DIED from a thing called Scurvy - being at sea for months on end without Vitamin C - so that tells you how clutch it is! If you were a jet, citrus would be your rocket boosters!
Cleansing is not for the weak, they take maja focus and determination - I'ma huge fan of a few juice blends that really act as hacks to get your thru while assisting in the detox process!

I really need to do a blog post specifically on Activated Charcoal (Organic from coconut husks) because the obsession is REAL! It's the perfect thing to assist with detox because it grabs onto toxins and carries them out of your system with a quickness. AC has no taste and it will cleanse your soul if you let it - it's that damn amazing! Black Lemonade or Charcoal Lemonade does the very same thing during your detox days. I usually drink it TWICE at any point in my 5 day cleanse, 2 hours after I've had my last juice and usually before bed. But you can drink it first thing in the AM or midday to. Just make sure to drink it well after you've taken any medication, because again - it grabs toxins (foreign elements in your system) and carries them out. Lavender isn't just a pretty blossom, it's an all natural cure for everything from headaches to allergies and skin irritations. It's gentle on your system and calms the whole vibration down - I love it!
Almond Milk... When I was a kid in the 80's you were deemed a SUPER DUPER hippy dippy weirdo if you drank it - until all the Lactose Intolerancers came outta the woodworks (my daughter Selina included) and Almond Milk got the love & respect it so dearly deserved! This blend is super easy, you can actually prep this blend the day before you start your cleanse, it keeps really well in the fridge! Grab organic almond milk (no artificial sugars or flavorings at all), pure lavender extract and every farmers market in America has a local honey/pollen booth so prep is really very simple. Add a good healthy pinch of sea salt and WHA-BAM you got your very own Almond Milk. A carton of juiced Strawberries will get you the Strawberry Almond Milk Blend too :)
**All juice blends are 8 ounces - it really depends on the juicer brand so you just need to eyeball how many fruits and veggies you need to get a complete 8 ounce blend!
